RENT . RENT-TO-OWN . PURCHASE

YOUR OPTIONS:

PURCHASE:  Purchases of instruments and supplies (with some exceptions such as reeds) are 20% off between Aug 15 - Oct 15.  Cash, Credit Card, Venmo, or Zelle are taken.

RENT-TO-OWN:  Rent-to-Own instruments are NOT discounted, but will add 28%-30% by the end of a contract.  Credit Card only, Driver's License, Passport or State ID needed

RENTALS:   Renting with or without option to buy are NOT discounted.  Upon return of the instrument (no matter how long it was rented), a minimum cleaning fee of $15 for strings & percussion, $30 for keyboard, $35 for trumpets, $45 for trombones, flutes and clarinets, $50 for saxophones, and $55 for Oboe. Additional charges may be incurred for dents, scratches, and breakage.  Stringed instruments with stickers will be charged an additional $5.

CUSTOMERS:

Your Rent to Own contract will look like this:

1) All rental fees are auto billed through credit card and are prepaid monthly.  Rental for any part of a month is considered rent for an entire month. {CUSTOMER} may return the instrument and terminate the agreement anytime, knowing a cleaning fee will be charged upon return.  No refunds will be awarded for partial months rent.

2) A Security Deposit and a 1st Month's Rent is taken upfront upon instrument reception. 

SECURITY DEPOSIT

3) The security deposit, minus the cleaning fee, may be returned in full if instrument is returned in excellent condition at the end of the agreement. If the renter decides to own the instrument by paying it off, the security deposit will be applied to the remaining balance. If the instrument is returned damaged beyond normal wear and tear, an extra fee shall be deducted from the security deposit before it is returned to the renter.

4) Instrument cleaning fees are charged upon rental return as follows: AT LEAST $15 for strings & percussion, $30 for keyboard, $35 for trumpets, $45 for trombones, flutes and clarinets, $50 for saxophones, and $55 for Oboe. Additional charges may be incurred for dents, scratches, and breakage.  Stringed instruments with stickers will be charged an additional $5.

MONTHLY RENT

5) The renter shall leave an updated credit card at all times from which monthly rent shall be deducted automatically.  A late fee of $10 will be deducted if a payment is late.  A grace period of 3 days is allowed before the late fee is automatically charged.

6) The renter, {CUSTOMER} assumes all responsibilities, including financial liability, for any loss, damage, or theft to the above described rental merchandise.  Videos of most common mistakes & damages are found here:  https://www.neighborhoodmusic.net/instrument-care.htm.

UPGRADE

7) Changing Sizes: When a new or like-new instrument needs to be upgraded (quality) or resized, and if it is returned in like-new or excellent condition, the instrument may be returned and refunded the deposit minus the cleaning fee.  When upgrading your instrument, trading in for another instrument, your security deposit minus the cleaning fee will be credited toward your new instrument.  

INSURANCE

8) Instrument insurance is offered for a fee equivalent to 50% of the full undiscounted retail price of the instrument upfront. This service covers repair costs for breakage of the instrument body only, and NOT parts included with the instrument such as broken strings or corks.

9) UPGRADE WHEN PURCHASED. Up to 30% for beginner instruments and up to 50% for intermediate instruments  may be granted toward the purchase or rental of an upgraded instrument.

COMMUNICATION

10) The renter, {CUSTOMER} agrees to notify Neighborhood Music School of any change in personal information related to billing.  This includes: name, credit card, address, or phone #

FURTHER DETAILS

11) {CUSTOMER} agrees to return the above described merchandise to Neighborhood Music School in the same condition.  {CUSTOMER} acknowledges that the returned rented merchandise is subject to final inspection by the Neighborhood Music School staff. Further charges to {CUSTOMER} may be incurred as a result of final inspection. All such charges will be due and payable upon notification to {CUSTOMER}.

12 )Rentals must be returned before the day of renewal in order not to be charged for the next month. There is no grace period.

13) {CUSTOMER} is responsible for the cost of any repair for their instrument.  This includes but is not limited to broken strings, corks, and parts that are included with the instrument upon rental.
 

SUMMARY

14) This document contains the entire agreement of the parties concerning this rental and the rented merchandise. Any oral representation or modification of this agreement shall be of no force and affect unless contained in a subsequent written notification signed by both parties. Renter's signature on this document certifies that all statements written above are complete and authorizes Neighborhood Music School to make any reasonable effort to verify the information given.  All information on this document and all related credit reporting information will be kept strictly confidential.
